Dear Living Hope Family,
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we have prayerfully considered the decisions to meet and gather in person. We have made every effort to balance the spiritual health of our church and our call to gather as a congregation with the ongoing risks that come with gathering during these unprecedented times. We made a number of accommodations to mitigate the risks to our guests by offering online services, a masked only area, and reducing the seats in our auditorium. However, we understood that this was no guarantee of complete safety and could not eliminate all risk of exposure to COVID-19.
This week we learned that there are a few ministry leaders with COVID-like symptoms, one of which has tested positive for COVID-19. Since exhibiting symptoms, all individuals have been tested and are quarantining. However, prior to their symptoms, they were present at ministry events on November 9-15. One thing to note: these individuals were NOT present in Sunday morning worship services on November 15.
As a response, we have and will continue to reach out to those who had direct contact during the possible window of exposure. If you were present at Living Hope events during these times please let us know if you have had any symptoms and/or are feeling ill. We are thankful that those who did get sick are already recovering and doing well.
In light of these circumstances we are making the decision, out of love for our congregation and staff, to close our building to in-person gatherings until Monday November 30. The only exceptions will be that our Food Pantry will remain open in their drive-in format and outdoor log splitting work-day will go on as planned.
Over the next two Sundays, services will be streamed online-only at 9:30am and available to watch any time after. Check with your ministry leader for any online opportunities to remain connected. At this point, ministries will resume their normal schedules on Monday, November 30th.
If you have any questions or concerns please email the office at [email protected]
or call 215.249.1133 and leave a voicemail, as the staff will be working remotely. We will return all inquiries promptly.
We trust that God is leading us, and will continue to lead us. And we remember that
...God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Tim. 1:7)
Please pray for those who are ill, our congregation, and our leaders as we navigate through these times. The Lord is on the throne and our prayer is that He will receive the glory, in us, and through us, and in the community around us. May you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving! We look forward to seeing you when we return.
Together in Christ,
Eugene Miller, the Staff, and Our Elders
